Internet Service
The Internet Service provides reliable internet connectivity within a VNET. This service allows you to manage outbound traffic using Source-NAT (SNAT) rules or inbound traffic using Destination-NAT (DNAT) rules.
When provisioning this service, you can choose to utilize standard Wanscale or integrate your own prefixes via the Bring You Own IP service.
Ordering an Internet Service
Follow these steps to order an Internet Service via the Wanscale Portal:
- Navigate to the Home page of the Wanscale Platform.
- Click the Add Service button.
- Select Internet from the service list.
- Click Go to service form.
- Complete the following fields in the service form:
- Label: Enter a descriptive name for the BYOIP.
- Tags (Optional): Add metadata for internal organization.
- Capacity: Select either 1Gbps or 10Gbps as the maximum throughput.
- Usage Profile: Choose your Commit.
- Note: Any usage exceeding this rate will be billed based on the 95th percentile rate each month.
- Prefix: Select the IP prefix you wish to use (either a Wanscale prefix or a configured BYOIP prefix).
- IP Address: Specify an initial IP address to allocate from the selected prefix. (Additional addresses can be added after creation).
- Virtual Network: Select the VNET to which this Internet Service will be attached.
- Click Add.
Warning
IP Sizing Warning: To facilitate connectivity, three (3) IP addresses are required for VRRP on the Internet Gateways. Ensure your BYOIP prefix is sized appropriately to accommodate these system requirements.
Note
Applying Changes: Like all networking services in the portal, your new Internet Service will not be active until you deploy the changes. See Workflows and Applying Changes.
