Overview

The Wanscale Platform provides full control, visibility, and secure connectivity between on-premises locations, the Internet, Public/Private Clouds, and SaaS providers.

This documentation section explores the available building blocks within the platform and demonstrates how to utilize them to construct a custom SD-WAN environment. Whether you are creating a simple Layer 2 Connect between two datacenter ports or a complex VNET architecture connecting multiple cloud and physical sites, the Wanscale Portal simplifies the deployment process.

Example Tenant: Throughout these guides, we will use the tenant Jupiter for all configuration examples.

Workflows and Applying Changes

The Wanscale Portal utilizes a "staged" change management system. When you create or modify a service or policy, the changes are held in a pending state until you manually deploy them across the services connected to your VNET.

How to Deploy Changes

  1. Monitor the Status Icon:
    • Green Checkmark: Located in the top-right corner; indicates the tenant has no pending changes and is fully synced.
    • Pulsating Yellow Icon: Appears when a change is made. The number inside the icon indicates the count of pending changes.
  2. Access the Workflow Menu: Click the Pulsating Yellow Icon to view the status of running, stalled, or completed workflows.
  3. Review Changes: Click the View pending changes button.
  4. Execute Deployment: On the summary screen, review the Affected Services and the Change Summary. Click Apply Selected to begin the deployment workflow.

Tip

Efficiency Tip: A workflow generates a single, merged configuration for all selected services. If you make multiple changes before clicking Apply, the services will receive one optimized update rather than several individual restarts, making the deployment more efficient.

Tags

Most services within the platform allow you to create and attach Tags.

  • Organization: Use tags to categorize components by region, department, or project.
  • Scalability: Tags make it easier to search, filter, and manage your infrastructure as your install base grows.
